The PD-8400 Portable Hard Drive Physical Destroyer destroys hard drives in order to ensure the information contained on the hard drive is no longer accessible. This physical destruction identifies every drive which has been destroyed and prepared for disposal.

The PD-8400 Portable Hard Drive Physical Destroyer is designed to physically destroy hard drives in order to prevent persons from being able to "spin" the hard drive up to retrieve data. The PD-8400 Portable Hard Drive Physical Destroyer automatically bends, breaks and mangles the hard drive. Once destroyed, the data will no longer be retrievable.

The PD-8400-ED, an optional Emergency Destruction version of the machine, will destroy the hard drive in under 15 seconds. The machine permits the user to select the height switch appropriate to the drive and place the mechanism directly over the drive to shorten the cycle. This allows the operator to save time when destroying low profile drives. For taller drives, the operator simply pushes the switch to allow the operator to destroy taller half-height and network drives up to 1.66 inches in height. There is no additional charge for this version.

All other methods of data erasure leave the outside appearance of hard drives unchanged. It is impossible for the operator to distinguish a working hard drive from a non-working drive.
